Eritrea Festival in
Germany colorfully concludes
Eritrea Festival in Germany concluded yesterday in a colorful
manner. The Eritrean Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr. Gergis
Teklemichael, opened the Festival in Frankfurt city on July 11 in
which thousands of Eritrean nationals and friends of Eritrea
participated.
Dr. Gergis gave extensive briefings to the participants on the
ongoing national reconstruction endeavors and the accomplishments so
far registered, the programs being implemented through the
coordinated efforts of the Government and the people towards
ensuring social justice and improving the people’s standard of
living. In addition, the prevailing situation in the Horn of Africa
was highlighted in the briefings.
An Eritrean intellectual, Prof. Gideon Abai, also gave a lecture
under the title “Resistance of Generations” outlining the Eritrean
people’s heroism, steadfastness and dedication.
Dr. Gergis and the Eritrean Ambassador to Germany, Mr. Petros
Tsegai, handed certificates to 56 Eritrean students who graduated
from different German universities and colleges in 2007/2008, as
well as those who completed secondary education.
A youth discussion forum was conducted on the occasion, in addition
to soccer match during which the winners were awarded trophies.
Salina Cultural Troupe from Asmara staged musical performance, thus
adding color to the event.
